Kirsty Weedon: Psychodrama Psychotherapist
Hello, I’m Kirsty Weedon, a qualified Psychodrama Psychotherapist, with 20 years of experience working with people and supporting their personal learning, growth and development.
I currently work with adults, offering individual therapy on a short-term (6-10 sessions) and long-term basis, depending on individual requirements.
I work with people who are seeking support for a particular concern as well as people who want to invest in their wellbeing and nurture their self-connection.
My psychodrama approach is creative, embodied and holistic. I work with the whole person, recognising our connection between mind, body and emotion. I use various creative and experiential techniques to help people express themselves and explore their lives. These are flexible and adapted to individual needs. I also integrate various other theoretical perspectives in my work, and am particularly informed and interested in psychodynamic, attachment and polyvagal theory.
I will work alongside you, finding a pace that fits for you, respecting your process and offering compassion, understanding and acceptance. I aim to create a safe space and a supportive relationship where you can explore whatever is important to you.
Psychodrama is not about acting or performing, and you do not need any prior experience of psychodrama.
I completed my psychodrama psychotherapy training at the Birmingham Institute for Psychodrama, starting my clinical practice in 2016, running individual and group therapy at Nottingham Recovery Network and Nottingham Women’s Centre, before starting my private practice in 2020.
I’m a member of the British Psychodrama Association (BPA) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I practice in accordance to their professional standards and ethical codes. I have professional insurance and received regular clinical supervision.
