Donna Navarro

I’m a yoga teacher and a yoga therapist for PTSD. I offer one to one Yoga sessions to help bring a re-connection with the body after trauma. My teaching is trauma-informed and tailored to suit your personal needs with a focus on helping to bring connection back with the body and for the body to feel like a safe place to be.

My offerings bring together the practice of yoga, yoga therapy and my experience of 10 years working in the criminal justice and public protection sectors, primarily within the Violence Against Women and Girls sector.

I am a certified and registered 350 hours (Yoga Alliance) Yoga Teacher, a Yoga Therapist for PTSD (The Minded Institute, London) and a certified Trauma, Resilience and Embodied Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance).

Yoga became part of my own self-care practice after suffering from significant back problems from the age of 15 and undergoing a number surgeries since. I quickly recognised the parallel messages of self-compassion, improved resilience, self-acceptance, empowerment, alongside an increased ability to self-regulate and manage my own experiences with trauma and anxiety.

My teaching is focused towards helping clients with trauma, anxiety, depression, insomnia and PTSD.

With private one to one sessions my teaching aims to help you:

* Find peace and healing through trauma informed yoga, resilience and embodiment practices

* Exercise agency in relation to how you move your body

* Learn to establish connection to self, trust others, and strengthen relationships

* Build skills and positive coping strategies for managing painful experiences and for building resilience

* Regain power and control through mindful movements, embodiment and reconnection to the body

* Bring balance and equilibrium back to the nervous system and reduce pain in the physical body

* Regain self-confidence, trust, self-compassion and kindness

* Learn how to leverage some of the techniques used on the mat into your daily lives

* Establish an increased sense of solace, safety and stability to feel at home in the body
