Psychotherapy Nottingham

Carys Jones

I am a person-centred psychotherapist that offers a warm, authentic and supportive environment to clients seeking help at times of difficulty. I currently offer psychotherapy sessions face-to-face, online or by telephone for adults and young people. I trained for 4 years in Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy with the Sherwood Institute and am a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I retrained as a Psychotherapist after spending many years working in social care with children and adolescents, managing children’s homes and therapeutic services for under 18’s with developmental trauma and attachment difficulties.

I have a strong belief in people’s capacity to change and a commitment to recognising social inequalities that throughout life can impact our ability to cope. My work is underpinned by principles around social justice and feminist ethics. I am also influenced by Eastern philosophies and practices such as Buddhism and meditation. To be at my best I prioritise self care outside of my working hours. To that end, in my down time I enjoy dog walking, yoga, playing games, reading and live music among other interests.
