I offer a compassionate, empathetic and non-judgmental space for you to talk and to be heard. Our work together might include exploring difficult feelings in the present and how they may connect to past experiences and relationships. I see the relationship we build together as core to the work we do. I strive to create an environment in which you feel safe to explore emotions together, and one which supports empowerment, growth and resilience. We will work to begin to find your own meanings and to find ways to live more in keeping with what you value and want from your life.
I take a relational and developmental approach to therapy and work in a down-to-earth and trauma-informed way. I will work with you as a whole human being within your own unique circumstance, whilst also considering the context of your family and community. My framework attends to the ways in which different forms of oppression impact your mental health. I have worked as a therapist in specialist NHS clinics as well as in community-based services. I draw on theories and frameworks from different places, including psychodynamic approaches, Self Psychology, feminist therapy and IFS (Internal Family Systems). Ultimately, I will work collaboratively with you to meet your needs and to create a space that invites reflection, creativity and curiosity.
